Our focus is on culture, conservation, community development, social change and sustainability.
Our mission is to grow this site into a community of passionate individuals who are keen to use travel as a force of good. If you’re passionate about travelling, sustainability or conservation, green living, or learning how to make this world a better place, then you’ll feel right at home here!
When it comes down to it, we have a few core beliefs:

How did this site come to be?
Hi, friend! I’m Vanessa. A Dominican native who left my home country in 2011 to pursue a B.SC. degree in environmental science in Australia. I started this site as a way of bringing together three of my favourite passions: travel, conservation and sustainability.
For the past decade, I have dabbled in multiple forms of environmentalism. In my early 20s, while working with the non-profit 350.org, I began taking multiple solo trips across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Since then, my desire to continue exploring the world has grown. I have now travelled to over 20 countries and these experiences, combined with my upbringing in a developing country and my career in environmental studies, have allowed me to develop an appreciation of the stark realities of the world we live in: social inequalities across different countries and cultures, environmental degradation, climate change, food and water security, among others.
Now in my 30s, I have developed an understanding of my place in the world and my capacity to influence change. I am on a mission to advocate for travel as a force of good, exploring the world in a way that highlights and conserves our natural world, encourages responsible and sustainable travel and brings positive change to the communities and the environment of the places I visit.
